Next run/trip

My next run is also a fun trip.  We are running the Star Wars 1/2 at Disneyland in January.  My hubby and son are HUGE Star Wars fans.  I like it but wouldn't say I'm obsessed like them lol.  It's going to be cool to do an inaugural run and hopefully keep going back to it every year and become legacy runners.  I am really excited but super nervous.  I haven't been training as well as I should be so I don't think I am going to PR :(  I am going to have to up my workouts the next few weeks.

Do 30 minute runs Monday - Thursday for the next two weeks
Do a 12 mile run on January 3rd
Do an 8 mile run on January 10th
Do 30 minute runs Monday - Wednesday the week of

I will check in at the end of the next few weeks with how well I did and what my time/miles were.

I also have to help my son train for the 400 meter.  The first kids run he did he ran it by himself but this time I am going to run it with him since the hubby is doing the 10k that morning (he's doing the Rebel Challenge 10k on Saturday then the half on Sunday)  I really like running with the kiddo.  I actually started running when I was in 6th grade with my Dad.  He and I would just start running and he would tell me to stop when I felt I couldn't go anymore and then he would keep running and I was supposed to walk until he caught back up with me then we would run back home.  The next run I would have to just push myself a little bit further.  We did this for years and then I joined cross-country and track.  Since my Dad died before my son was born it's real bitter sweet for me that my son enjoys it so much and its kind of like the three of us are sharing it together.

I am really excited to head to Disneyland again.  We are getting to stay at the Disneyland Hotel thanks to the GetTravel deal for the half marathon.  They give you awesome deals on hotel rooms and park tickets, it's great.  We also have reservations to a few of our favorite restaurants and we are going to try out the new Fantasmic dinner package.  We usually do the World of Color one and love it so hopefully this one will be just as awesome.  I am really big on making dinning reservations.  I have had a lot of people ask my why isn't it more expensive & a big pain in the butt?  My answer is always NO!!!  It's usually the same price if you are going to eat in the park if you do a sit down meal at one of the counter or quick service and 100x's better.  Especially when you are going to do a run.  You want to eat as healthy as possible so we usually hit up Target and get some yogurt, bagels, fruit and water for breakfast and then we eat at the sit down restaurants with salads, lean meats, fish, or pasta.  I will have to do a review on my favorite restaurants in Disneyland especially when planning for a run.

It's getting late and I still have some laundry to do so I will sign off for now.  Have a great night.
